Energy Audit

This Course is prepared for helping the entry level Fresher & Experience Engineers in the field of Energy auditing. The training targets students and building industry professionals who would like to learn more about energy auditing but do not plan to perform it themselves and those who do intend to perform the energy audit but are new to the field and want to establish a foundation for further study and professional job.  

Duration and Fee:

This course (Online + Physical) is designed to have 16 credit hours and would be delivered within two days on weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Fee for this course is 12,000 for professionals, 10,000 for students and 10% discount in group of 2 or 3.

Target Audience/Eligibility:

  • B. Tech/BE/BSc in Mechanical/Industrial/Architectural/Textile/Instrumental/Energy/ Electrical/Chemical
  • Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering

    • Roughly known values
      • Ventilation rates
      • Wall and roof R-values
      • Weather
    • Unknown values (start with mid-range values)
      • Plug load power and schedules
      • Kitchen energy
      • Infiltration
      • Valve leakage
  • Simplify the building geometry and zoning
    • Accurately model exterior wall, roof, and window areas and orientations
    • Group together surfaces where possible
    • Minimize number of rooms/zones
  • Choose a weather file
    • Actual weather data
    • Once calibrated, weather file will have small effect on accuracy
    • Basic changes and selection
  • Simulation for existing and proposed parameters
    • Energy simulation using software to get results
    • Comparison of HVAC, Lighting, Office equipment, Building envelope and miscellaneous
    • Output’s whole building energy results of existing and proposed building
    • Energy consumption kw/month, kw/year and Kbtu/year 
    • Energy conservation saving from baseline existing building
    • Generate hourly, monthly and annual graph of whole building energy consumption
    • Final results and energy auditing report
